Residents of Iba, along the LASU-Igando Road in Lagos State, woke up to a disturbing sight on Tuesday morning as the bodies of two young men were discovered near a canal by First Gate.

The victims, both topless, were found lying face down with their hands and feet tightly bound. Their heads were covered with blue trash bags knotted around their necks, suggesting they may have been suffocated.

Videos shared online show clear marks of flogging on their bodies, raising suspicions that they were brutally tortured before being killed.

A local resident told reporters that the men were likely murdered during the night of September 8, as their bodies were discovered in the early hours of September 9.

As of Tuesday evening, the bodies were still at the scene, drawing crowds of shocked onlookers and sparking fear among residents who now worry about rising insecurity in the area.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement on the killings, but locals are urging police to launch an immediate investigation to uncover those behind the gruesome act.

The tragic incident has left many in Lagos shaken, with calls growing louder for stronger community policing and security presence along the busy LASU-Igando road.
