TOYIN ABRAHAM’S OVERSABI AUNTY GROSSES ₦1BN AT BOX OFFICE
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has recorded another major milestone as her film Oversabi Aunty crossed the ₦1 billion mark at the box office, emerging as the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time.
The achievement was announced by the film’s distributor, FilmOne, in a post shared on Instagram, which revealed that the movie earned a total of ₦1,017,201,953 in cinemas across West Africa.
With the feat, Oversabi Aunty has also become the first Nollywood directorial debut to gross over ₦1 billion at the box office.
In a celebratory message, FilmOne expressed gratitude to moviegoers across the region, describing the milestone as a “full celebration” and a significant victory for the Nigerian film industry.
The announcement sparked widespread excitement on social media, with fans and fellow actors congratulating Abraham on the success.
Actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington reacted, writing, “Yassssss,” while a fan, #stunnurse1, commented, “That’s true ooo, first directorial debut to hit a billion.”
