Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman could be heading back to the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur preparing a fresh bid for him in the January transfer window.

Reports suggest Spurs, who failed in their attempt to sign the winger last summer, have not given up on bringing the Atalanta star to North London.

During the summer, Tottenham were desperate for attacking reinforcements and had identified Lookman as their top option after missing out on Eberechi Eze, who joined Arsenal, and Savinho, who proved difficult to sign from Manchester City.

While Bayern Munich came closest with a loan offer, Atalanta rejected the deal, insisting on keeping their Europa League hero.

Now, with Thomas Frank — a big admirer of Lookman — at the helm, Spurs are expected to reignite their chase. Reports indicate the Nigerian international could be available for around £20 million (N40 billion), a fee Tottenham are comfortable paying.

Lookman has impressed since joining Atalanta, playing a key role in their European success and raising his stock in Europe. A move to Tottenham would mark a Premier League return for the former Everton and Leicester City winger, giving him another chance to shine on England’s biggest stage.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
