Gospel singer Tope Alabi has warned that she may take legal action against anyone who publishes or spreads false statements that damage her reputation.

The warning came in a public notice issued by her solicitors, Oakmount Legal Practitioners, and shared on her Instagram page on Friday, October 23, 2026.

The lawyers said Alabi had spent nearly 30 years building her reputation as a gospel minister, singer, songwriter and actress. They described that reputation as an important personal and professional asset.

According to the notice, false, misleading and harmful statements about the singer had been brought to her attention, prompting instructions to pursue appropriate legal remedies.

The firm said its warning covered statements circulated through social media posts, videos, images, audio recordings, interviews, podcasts and other channels.

It also cautioned that possible liability was not limited to the original creator of a false claim. People who repost, forward or otherwise spread such material could face legal action, depending on the circumstances and any applicable legal defences.

The solicitors further warned that using an anonymous or unverified account would not automatically shield anyone from legal responsibility.

They said Alabi reserved the right to seek court orders, where legally permitted, to identify those behind offending publications through relevant platforms and service providers.

The notice announced her intention to protect her reputation through legal channels; it did not identify specific defendants or announce that a lawsuit had been filed.
