Real Madrid is no stranger to making big-money moves — and with the 2025 summer transfer window in full swing, the club continues to strengthen its squad. This summer alone, they’ve added names like Dean Huijsen, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Franco Mastantuono, and Álvaro Carreras from Benfica.

But when it comes to record-breaking signings, a few names stand above the rest. According to Madrid Xtra (via Score90), here are the top five most expensive players ever signed by Real Madrid:

Eden Hazard – €121 million
Real Madrid’s most expensive signing to date, Hazard joined from Chelsea in 2019. Despite high hopes, his time at the Bernabéu was plagued by injuries and inconsistency.

Jude Bellingham – €113 million
Signed from Borussia Dortmund in 2023, the English midfielder has already become a fan favourite with his dominant displays and goal-scoring presence.

Gareth Bale – €101 million
The Welsh winger arrived from Tottenham in 2013, making headlines with his pace and memorable goals — including that stunning bicycle kick in the 2018 Champions League final.

Cristiano Ronaldo – €94 million
One of the greatest footballers of all time, Ronaldo joined Madrid in 2009 from Manchester United. He went on to become the club’s all-time leading goal scorer and won multiple trophies, including four Champions League titles.

Aurélien Tchouaméni – €80 million
The French midfielder was signed from AS Monaco in 2022 and has since developed into a crucial part of Real Madrid’s midfield rebuild.

As Real Madrid continues to chase success on all fronts, these high-profile signings show just how far the club is willing to go to stay on top.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
