TOP 10 STOCKBROKERS DOMINATE TRADING ON NGX

The top 10 stockbroking firms accounted for a significant share of trading activity on the Nigerian Exchange Limited during the five-day trading period from August 17 to 21, 2026.

In the equities market, the firms generated 59.89 per cent of total transaction value, highlighting the strong concentration of trading among leading market operators.

First Securities Brokers Limited led the equities market with ₦30.04 billion in transactions, representing 9.52 per cent of total trade value. Imperial Asset Managers Limited followed with ₦28.57 billion, while CardinalStone Securities Limited ranked third with ₦26.58 billion.

Cordros Securities Limited recorded ₦24.23 billion, followed by Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited with ₦21.98 billion and United Capital Securities Limited with ₦15.66 billion.

The concentration was even stronger in fixed-income trading, where the top 10 brokers accounted for 96.41 per cent of total trade value. Coronation Securities Limited and Vetiva Capital Management Limited each held a 47.19 per cent share of the segment.

The exchange-traded funds market also recorded strong concentration, with the top 10 brokers responsible for 89.06 per cent of total transaction value. Lambeth Capital Limited led the segment with ₦330.88 million.

Across all asset classes, the top 10 stockbrokers accounted for 59.26 per cent of total market value during the week.

First Securities Brokers maintained the overall lead with ₦30.05 billion in transactions, followed by Imperial Asset Managers and CardinalStone Securities.

The figures underscore the dominant role of leading brokerage firms in Nigeria’s capital market as investors continue to channel substantial trading activity through established market operators.
