Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, has declared that President Bola Tinubu’s administration will be voted out in the 2027 general election — even if his son, Seyi Tinubu, is appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Dalung made the statement during an interview on New Central, urging opposition leaders to rally around the newly formed coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Nigerians should buckle up for 2027 because the battle line has been drawn. President Tinubu’s government has declared war on the Nigerian people. It has weaponised poverty, hunger and hardship, and promoted corruption, impunity and injustice,” Dalung said.
He insisted that no amount of political manipulation will prevent the APC from being defeated in 2027.
“Even if the 36 state governors defect to the APC and he appoints his son, Seyi Tinubu, as INEC chairman, and perhaps his wife as the Chief Justice of Nigeria, he will still be defeated,” Dalung declared.
Dalung encouraged opposition figures to unite under the ADC to “reposition themselves” and confront what he described as a failing administration.
The ADC, now being positioned as a new political front ahead of the 2027 polls, includes several prominent figures — former governors, ex-lawmakers, and past ministers — seeking to build a credible alternative to the ruling party.
