President Bola Tinubu has called on all Nigerians to support and encourage the nation’s military, highlighting the sacrifices they make daily to ensure the safety and security of the country.

Speaking on Wednesday at the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) conference in Abuja, the president praised the men and women of the military and other security agencies for their tireless efforts in protecting citizens from terrorism, banditry, and other threats.

“Yes, we are challenged by terrorism, banditry, and others. We recognise that. Are we doing something about it? Are we inspiring the armed forces? Are we encouraging them to fight?” Tinubu asked, stressing the critical role the military plays in defending Nigeria’s sovereignty.

He urged citizens to remember that the military risks their lives every day for the nation and that it is the responsibility of every Nigerian to support and inspire them.

The president’s remarks come amid ongoing efforts by security agencies to tackle rising threats across the country, reinforcing the need for national solidarity in facing these challenges.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
