TINUBU SEEKS DEEPER TIES WITH UK UNDER NEW PM BURNHAM

President Bola Tinubu has conveyed Nigeria’s commitment to forging stronger bilateral relations with the United Kingdom under the leadership of the new Prime Minister, Mr. Burnham.

The President made the declaration on Wednesday during a telephone conversation with the UK leader.

Tinubu congratulated Burnham on his election victory and emphasised the need to expand cooperation in key areas such as trade and investment, security, technology transfer, education, and climate action.

“We are ready to build on our historic ties and explore new frontiers of partnership that will deliver tangible benefits to both nations,” President Tinubu stated.

The two leaders also discussed enhanced collaboration on migration management, defence, and support for Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms.

Prime Minister Burnham expressed appreciation for the warm congratulations and reiterated the UK’s willingness to partner with Nigeria for mutual prosperity and regional stability.

The engagement is seen as a positive signal for improved diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
