TINUBU MOURNS EMIR OF ZURMI

President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to the family of the late Emir of Zurmi, Sarkin Zamfaran Zurmi, Alhaji Bello Sulaiman, who died on Monday.

The President also commiserated with the Zurmi Emirate Council, the Zamfara State Government and people of the state, as well as Nigeria’s traditional institution.

In a condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described the late monarch as a respected traditional ruler who served his people with wisdom, dignity and commitment.

The President said Sulaiman provided leadership during a difficult period, particularly as the Zurmi Emirate faced security challenges.

Tinubu also praised the late Emir’s efforts towards promoting peace, unity and resilience among his people, describing him as a stabilising figure whose counsel contributed to peace-building efforts in Zamfara State and the wider North-West.

Alhaji Bello Sulaiman became Emir of Zurmi in 2021 and spent five years on the throne before his death.

Tinubu prayed for the forgiveness of the late monarch’s shortcomings and asked Almighty Allah to reward his good deeds and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.

He also prayed for strength and comfort for the Emir’s family, the people of Zurmi and others mourning his death.
