TINUBU LAYING FOUNDATION FOR NIGERIA’S LONG-TERM PROSPERITY — MIN
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has stated that President Bola Tinubu is establishing a solid foundation for sustainable growth and shared prosperity in Nigeria.
Idris made this remark while receiving members of the Grassroots Advocacy for Tinubu (GAT) 2027 during a courtesy visit. The statement was issued in Abuja by the minister’s Special Assistant on Media, Malam Rabiu Ibrahim.
“The administration has taken bold and sometimes difficult decisions to place Nigeria on a more sustainable path. Early signs of recovery are now evident across key sectors of the economy,” Idris said.
He emphasized that these measures were designed to stabilize the economy and restore confidence. “What we are witnessing today are the foundations for long-term growth and shared prosperity. Nigeria’s improving economic outlook must be safeguarded through unity, responsible communication, and collective support for national policies.”
The minister also cautioned that distorted narratives about the country could undermine investor confidence and slow development. “When we project stability and unity, we attract investments and create opportunities for our people,” he added.
Idris commended GAT 2027 for its civic engagement and responsibility in promoting accurate public information. He welcomed the group’s proposal for partnership with the Federal Ministry of Information and the National Orientation Agency in public enlightenment, youth engagement, and strategic communication.
He further noted that advocacy groups play a crucial role in ensuring government policies reach grassroots communities and described effective communication as essential to national stability and development.
Reaffirming the president’s commitment to inclusivity, Idris assured that the ministry would continue collaborating with credible groups to ensure accurate information is widely shared.
In his remarks, GAT 2027 National Coordinator, Prof. Ochugudu Ipuele, said the group’s visit aimed to brief the minister on its activities and demonstrate support for his mandate of informing Nigerians and clarifying government policies.
“The group is committed to supporting President Tinubu’s policies by countering distorted narratives, especially during election periods, and engaging young people. We are poised to respond in real time to false or misleading information and promote accurate information among the youth,” he said.
