At least seven governorship aspirants in Osun State under the All Progressives Congress (APC) have withdrawn from the race following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.
The aspirants have agreed to back Bola Oyebamiji as the party’s consensus candidate ahead of the upcoming primary.
The meeting, held at the Presidential Villa, was not attended by aspirant Iyiola Omisore, who had earlier dismissed his disqualification from the primary as a joke.
Those who stepped down include former Deputy Governor Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, Dotun Babayemi, Akin Ogunbiyi, Senator Babajide Omoworare, Kunle Adegoke, Babatunde Haketer Oralusi, and Mulikat Abiola Jimoh.
