TINUBU HAILS DAUDA LAWAL’S LEADERSHIP AS ZAMFARA GOVERNOR TURNS 61
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, as the governor marks his 61st birthday, praising his administration’s development efforts and describing him as a “Renaissance governor.”
Tinubu’s message was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, as Lawal celebrated his birthday on September 2, 2026. The President used the occasion to commend the governor for what he described as positive changes recorded in Zamfara under his leadership.
The President particularly highlighted Lawal’s focus on infrastructure, urban renewal and industrialisation, noting that the governor’s administration had pursued development across several sectors of the state. Tinubu also praised the governor for extending his administration’s attention beyond physical infrastructure to education and healthcare.
According to the statement, Lawal’s government has rehabilitated more than 800 schools and recruited over 2,000 teachers as part of efforts to strengthen the education sector. The administration was also commended for upgrading hospitals and supplying medical equipment and other essential materials to healthcare facilities across the state.
Tinubu described the governor’s approach to governance as multi-sectoral, saying that simultaneous investment in different areas of the economy and public services was important for achieving broad-based development. He particularly emphasised the importance of human capital development in improving the long-term prospects of Zamfara.
The President further acknowledged Lawal’s efforts in infrastructure and urban renewal, alongside his push to promote industrial activities in the state. Tinubu said such initiatives were important components of a broader development strategy aimed at improving the wellbeing of residents.
As Lawal marks his 61st birthday, Tinubu joined the governor’s family, friends and people of Zamfara State in celebrating the occasion. He wished the governor good health, renewed strength and continued success as he carries on with his responsibilities to the state and the nation.
