TINUBU, GOVERNORS SEEK INTELLIGENCE SHARING ON INSECURITY

President Bola Tinubu and governors from the North-Central region have called for stronger intelligence sharing and coordination among security agencies to tackle insecurity in the region.

The call was made as concerns continue to grow over attacks, banditry, kidnapping and other security challenges affecting communities across parts of the North-Central.

The stakeholders stressed the need for security agencies and governments at all levels to work more closely and share timely intelligence to prevent attacks and protect residents.

They said improved coordination would help security agencies identify threats early, respond more effectively and disrupt the activities of criminal groups.

The governors also highlighted the importance of collaboration between federal and state authorities in addressing the security challenges facing their communities.

Tinubu’s administration has continued to emphasise intelligence-led security operations as part of efforts to improve national security and protect lives and property.

The stakeholders called for greater cooperation among security agencies, local authorities and communities, noting that residents can play an important role by providing useful information to security personnel.

They also stressed the need to address factors contributing to insecurity, including unemployment, poverty and other social challenges.

The meeting comes amid continued efforts by the Federal Government and state governments to strengthen security across the country.

The stakeholders expressed commitment to working together to restore peace and stability in the North-Central region and create safer conditions for residents and businesses.
