TINUBU COMMENDS FEMI SANNI’S LOYALTY AS KWARA APC LEADER MARKS BIRTHDAY
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised a prominent All Progressives Congress chieftain in Kwara State, Femi Sanni, for his loyalty and commitment to the party, as the politician marks his birthday.
Tinubu described Sanni as a dependable party member whose commitment to the APC and Nigeria’s democratic development had earned recognition. The President congratulated the Kwara politician and expressed his best wishes to him on the occasion.
Sanni, popularly known as Araba, has been active in Kwara State politics and previously contested the APC governorship primary in the state. He was among the aspirants who participated in the party’s internal contest before the emergence of Yakubu Danladi Salihu as the APC’s candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
His political activities have also included engagement with party members and stakeholders across Kwara. Sanni has consistently presented himself as a supporter of the APC and has publicly expressed confidence in the party’s ability to retain political influence in the state despite disagreements that emerged during the governorship selection process.
The APC chieftain has also spoken in support of President Tinubu’s administration and its reform agenda. During previous engagements, he highlighted issues surrounding democratic governance and praised initiatives such as the Supreme Court’s decision affirming financial autonomy for local governments. He also supported discussions around strengthening security through measures such as state police.
Tinubu’s recognition of Sanni comes at a period of heightened political activity within the Kwara APC as the party prepares for the 2027 elections. The party has been working to maintain unity among its members following its governorship primary, with reconciliation efforts activated to bring together aspirants and other stakeholders who participated in the contest.
The issue of party unity has remained important in Kwara as different political interests position themselves ahead of the next general election. While some aspirants expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome of the governorship primary, party leaders have continued to call for cooperation and collective support for the APC’s candidates.
Sanni has similarly maintained that internal disagreements should not be allowed to weaken the party’s electoral prospects. He previously argued that the level of political activity within the APC demonstrated its strength in the state and expressed confidence that the party could overcome its differences before the 2027 election.
Beyond his involvement in contemporary party politics, Sanni has also been associated with Nigeria’s pro-democracy movement. In a Democracy Day message, he paid tribute to individuals who participated in the struggle against military rule, including Tinubu and other prominent pro-democracy figures, while stressing the importance of preserving democratic values.
The President’s birthday message therefore places renewed attention on Sanni’s political activities and his relationship with the APC leadership. His continued engagement within the party comes as Kwara’s political landscape becomes increasingly active ahead of the 2027 elections.
Tinubu’s commendation also underscores the importance the APC places on loyalty and continued commitment among its members as the party prepares for another major electoral contest. Sanni is expected to remain involved in the party’s political activities in Kwara as preparations for the 2027 polls intensify.
