Tinubu Celebrates Ex-bauchi Governor Adamu Mu’azu At 70, Applauds His Statesmanship

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm wishes to Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu, former Governor of Bauchi State and one-time National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as he clocks 70.

In a goodwill message released by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Tinubu commended Mu’azu’s life of service and leadership, describing him as “an accomplished public servant and frontline politician who has left lasting imprints on Nigeria’s political and development landscape.”

The President recalled their shared journey as state governors between 1999 and 2007, a time he referred to as “a trying period for Nigeria’s democratic rebirth.” He praised Mu’azu’s steady hand and visionary leadership in Bauchi State, particularly his efforts in strengthening sectors like education, health, and infrastructure.

“We were governors at the same time between 1999 and 2007—a trying period for our new beginning,” Tinubu said. “I remember your calm, principled leadership and your ability to deliver tangible development in Bauchi. You stood out.”

Tinubu also highlighted Mu’azu’s pivotal role during Nigeria’s 2015 general elections. Despite being at the helm of the PDP during a historic presidential defeat, Mu’azu was lauded by Tinubu for placing national interest and democratic values above party politics.

“Though your party lost the election, you upheld democratic values above party interests,” Tinubu noted. “Your maturity helped ensure a peaceful transition that solidified our democracy.”

The President concluded by praying for Mu’azu’s continued well-being:

“I join your family, friends, and well-wishers across the country in celebrating your 70th birthday. May God grant you many more years in good health and peace.”
