TINUBU CELEBRATES AFROBEATS ICON 2BABA AT 50
President Bola Tinubu has joined millions of Nigerians and fans across the world in celebrating Afrobeats legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, on his 50th birthday.
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President hailed 2Baba’s enduring influence on the Nigerian and global music scene.
Tinubu described the award-winning singer as a symbol of creativity, resilience, and the Nigerian spirit, praising his contributions to music for over two decades.
“For more than 20 years, 2face serenaded Nigeria and the world with soulful melodies, inspired generations, and carried the Nigerian flag with pride worldwide,” Tinubu said.
The President also highlighted the timeless appeal of 2Baba’s iconic track, African Queen, calling it an evergreen masterpiece that showcased the beauty of African music to the world and firmly placed Nigeria on the global entertainment map.
As 2Baba marks his golden jubilee, fans and colleagues alike continue to shower tributes on the singer, who remains one of Africa’s most respected music icons.
