TINUBU CALLS ON MUSLIMS TO EMBRACE PROPHET MUHAMMAD’S TEACHINGS

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Muslims across Nigeria to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad and incorporate his virtues into their daily lives as they celebrate Eid-el-Maulud. The President said the occasion should provide an opportunity for Muslims to deepen their commitment to values that promote peace, compassion and unity.

Tinubu encouraged the Muslim faithful to draw lessons from the Prophet’s life, particularly his demonstration of kindness, patience, selflessness, perseverance and compassion towards others. He stressed that these qualities remain relevant to the challenges facing society and should guide people's interactions with one another.

The President also called on Muslims to use the celebration as a period of reflection and prayer for the nation. He urged Nigerians to promote peaceful coexistence and show greater understanding and empathy towards people of different backgrounds, noting the importance of unity in strengthening the country.

The Eid-el-Maulud celebration commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad and is observed by Muslims as an occasion for spiritual reflection and remembrance of his teachings. Tinubu urged the faithful to ensure that the values associated with the Prophet are reflected not only during the celebration but also in their everyday conduct.

He further called for continued prayers for Nigeria and its leaders, while encouraging citizens to contribute to peace and national development. The President's message comes as religious and political leaders continue to emphasise tolerance, compassion and unity as important values for promoting stability and peaceful coexistence across the country.
