TINUBU APPROVES FULL PAYMENT OF SUPER FALCONS’ ALLOWANCES, BONUSES AHEAD OF WAFCON FINAL
President Bola Tinubu has authorized the full disbursement of allowances and match bonuses for the Super Falcons ahead of their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2025 final clash with Morocco.
The announcement was made on Thursday in Abuja by Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, who stated that all entitlements — including those for the July 26 final — had been cleared for immediate payment to players, coaches, and officials.
Dikko praised the move as a reflection of Tinubu’s proactive leadership and a sign of the administration’s renewed commitment to supporting Nigerian athletes.
He emphasized that prompt payments will now become the norm, ensuring athletes receive their dues without delays or disputes.
The gesture also extends to D’Tigress, Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, as they prepare for the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket in Côte d’Ivoire. According to Dikko, they too will benefit from enhanced financial support.
“This is the future of Nigerian sports — one founded on dignity, trust, and shared prosperity. President Tinubu’s reforms will be remembered by generations to come,” Dikko said.
