TINUBU APPOINTS YUSUF BICHI CHAIRMAN OF NISS GOVERNING BOARD
President Bola Tinubu has reportedly appointed former Director-General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi, as chairman of the governing board of the National Institute for Security Studies.
The appointment would place Bichi in an oversight role at an institution focused on security education, research and leadership development.
Bichi headed the DSS from 2018 until August 2024, when Tinubu appointed Adeola Ajayi as his replacement. His career provides a background in intelligence and security administration.
The National Institute for Security Studies brings together senior personnel for training and discussions on security challenges. Its work supports the development of knowledge and cooperation among professionals involved in national security.
A governing board provides institutional oversight and strategic direction, while management handles day-to-day operations.
Details of Bichi’s reported appointment, including its effective date, tenure and the board’s full membership, were not independently confirmed.
The development draws attention to the institute’s role in preparing security leaders to address complex threats through training, research and collaboration.
