Popular TikToker Saheed Jamiu Osama, better known as Shamsodium, has regained his freedom after spending three months at the Ikoyi Prison.

The social media personality was arrested earlier this year for allegedly cyberbullying and defaming Omowunmi, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Shamsodium’s arrest came after he repeatedly appeared in public holding placards that accused Omowunmi of being responsible for Mohbad’s death — displaying messages like “Wunmi k!lled Mohbad” while parading the streets of Lagos.

Following months of detention and court proceedings, Shamsodium was finally granted bail, with conditions reportedly including a ₦3 million bond, verified surety, and submission of valid identification and proof of residence.

Upon his release, the TikToker was captured in a video praising his lawyer, Bolaji Oluwatosin, whom he described as “the best lawyer ever” for securing his freedom.

His release brings an end to a tense three-month legal battle that attracted massive public attention due to its link with the ongoing controversies surrounding Mohbad’s death.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
