Indian authorities have dismantled a major drug trafficking network reportedly operated by three Nigerian women, leading to the recovery of various illicit substances, including cocaine, in Delhi.

According to a report by the Times of India, the suspects, identified only as Precious, Gift, and Joy, were arrested near Bakhtawar Chowk following the earlier arrest of an Indian national, Adarsh Sahu, who was linked to the operation.

The report stated, “Four people, including three Nigerian women, were arrested for allegedly managing a drug supply network in Delhi’s Khanpur area. Police seized significant quantities of MDMA and cocaine from their possession.”

Authorities said the arrests followed a tip-off about Sahu, a resident of Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh, who was allegedly distributing drugs. He was apprehended near Green Health Pharmacy in Sector 39 with 26 grams of MDMA.

Police investigations revealed that Sahu’s confession led to the discovery of an international drug supply chain allegedly coordinated by the three Nigerian women.

An investigating officer said, “We received credible information that Adarsh Sahu was involved in drug sales. Acting on this, we conducted a raid and arrested him, recovering a commercial quantity of MDMA.”

During questioning, Sahu reportedly admitted to sourcing the drugs from Precious and Gift, two Nigerian women based in Delhi. Acting on the intelligence, the police formed another team that apprehended the women and recovered 39 grams of MDMA.

Further interrogation led investigators to a rented apartment in Khanpur Extension, Delhi, where another Nigerian woman, Joy, was arrested. A raid on the property yielded 22 grams of white MDMA, 3 grams of brown MDMA, and 9 grams of cocaine, along with an electronic scale, packaging materials, and mobile phones.

The suspects have been placed in police custody for further investigation to trace other members of the international drug network.

In a related development earlier this year, a Nigerian man was arrested in Thailand during a nightclub raid over a similar drug trafficking case, heightening concerns about the growing involvement of foreigners, particularly Nigerians, in drug syndicates across Asia.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
