“THEY SAID HE WAS FINE, BUT I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG” – MOHBAD’S FATHER OPENS UP ABOUT SON’S DEATH
Months after the tragic passing of Nigerian singer Mohbad (Ilerioluwa Aloba), his father, Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, has opened up about the singer’s final moments — and the events surrounding them have raised more questions than answers.
In an emotional interview with social media activist VeryDarkMan (Vincent Otse Martins), Mr. Aloba recounted how he was first informed of his son’s health situation. On September 12, around 4:30 p.m., he received a call from Mohbad’s mother telling him the singer was sick and had been taken to the hospital.
"I told her I was at a bus stop, and we should go together to see him," he said.
They headed to Osapa London, where Mohbad was supposedly receiving treatment. But upon arrival, the story suddenly changed. Mohbad’s uncle, Darosha, told him that the singer was feeling better and he could go back home.
That change in tone made Mr. Aloba deeply suspicious.
“I was already sensing my son was dead… because how can someone be seriously ill, and suddenly they’re fine — with no explanation?”
Later, when he followed them to the house, Mr. Aloba said he was blocked from entering at first due to the crowd. He had to identify himself before he was allowed in.
What he saw when he got upstairs left him shaken.
“That’s where Mohbad and I usually met. When I entered, I saw the duvet soaked in blood,” he revealed.
According to him, the circumstances kept getting more troubling. After going to the police to give his statement, Mr. Aloba was denied the police report — allegedly because he didn’t report the death "on time." He also alleged that Mohbad’s body was embalmed at home without his consent, and that a morgue refused to take the body that same night.
He further claimed that Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, had the doctor’s report about his son’s condition but refused to say anything about it.
These fresh revelations have stirred up more public interest — and concern — as fans continue to call for justice for Mohbad. With investigations still ongoing, Nigerians are demanding clarity, accountability, and the full truth behind the young star’s untimely death.
