Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for his role on The Cosby Show, has died at the age of 54.
According to ABC News, Warner drowned off the coast of Costa Rica on Sunday. Local authorities reported that the incident occurred at Playa Cocles in Limón, and his cause of death was confirmed as asphyxiation due to drowning.
Officials say Warner was caught in a rip current. His body was recovered on Sunday afternoon.
Born on August 18, 1970, Warner began his television career in 1982 with a role in Matt Houston. In recent years, he appeared in the Fox medical drama The Resident.
