TERRORISTS RELEASE DISTURBING VIDEO OF TORTURED HOSTAGES IN KWARA, DEMAND ₦50 MILLION RANSOM
Kwara Kidnap Horror: Terrorists Torture POS Agent, Two Children in New Video, Demand ₦50 Million Ransom
A heartbreaking video has emerged from Kwara State showing a popular Point-of-Sale (POS) agent known as Yman and two children being brutally tortured by terrorists in a forest location. The captives, who have been in captivity for over a month, were seen crying and pleading for help as the gunmen demanded a ₦50 million ransom for their release.
Yman was abducted in late June 2025, during a wave of kidnappings in Kwara North, and has remained in captivity alongside the two children. The video, now widely circulated online, shows the victims weak, visibly malnourished, and being flogged by unmasked gunmen, raising fresh fears about the growing brazenness of criminal gangs in the region.
Family members of the victims who spoke with journalists revealed that the kidnappers have hijacked Yman’s WhatsApp and TikTok accounts, using them to post distressing videos of him crying and begging for food. They say the terrorists also send direct messages through his accounts to taunt loved ones and plead for the ransom.
Disturbingly, the kidnapper has appeared unmasked in at least seven separate videos, showing no fear of being identified or apprehended.
"We are begging the government to act fast. They’re not even hiding their faces anymore," one of Yman’s relatives said. "They’ve turned his social media into a tool of torment. We just want him and the children back safely."
As of the time of this report, security agencies have not issued an official statement on the video or the efforts being made to secure the victims’ release.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage online, with Nigerians calling on federal and state authorities to take urgent action to end the rising wave of kidnappings and restore security in rural parts of Kwara and beyond.
This latest video is a grim reminder of the worsening insecurity in parts of Nigeria, where terrorist groups continue to operate with increasing boldness and impunity.
