TECH INVESTMENT, INDUSTRY COLLABORATION VITAL TO ENERGY GROWTH — COLEMAN
The Managing Director of Coleman Wires and Cables, George Onafowokan, has stressed the need for increased technology investment and stronger industry collaboration to drive sustainable energy growth in Nigeria.
Speaking at a recent energy forum, Onafowokan highlighted how innovative product design and support for renewable energy systems can enhance efficiency in the power sector. He called for synergy between manufacturers, government, and financial institutions to address critical challenges hindering productivity.
Coleman, a leading indigenous cable manufacturer, is expanding its role in powering infrastructure projects, including broadband and smart grids. The company recently commissioned facilities aimed at boosting local production of fibre optic cables and supporting the digital economy.
Onafowokan urged greater focus on research and development, skills training, and policy incentives to strengthen the electrical and electronics sector’s contribution to national energy goals. “We need to invest in research and development to create innovative, locally relevant solutions,” he said.
Stakeholders believe such partnerships will be key to unlocking Nigeria’s energy potential and fostering industrial growth
