Emotions ran high on Friday in Osogbo, Osun State, as Lasisi Oluwamayokun, a 38-year-old officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, and her daughter, Adesewa, were laid to rest. The burial took place at the grounds of St John’s Anglican Church, Ita-Olookan, with family members, colleagues, and friends mourning the tragic loss.

The mother and daughter had gone missing on the morning of Sunday, November 2, 2025, after leaving their residence at the Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, and were not seen again.

Their deaths, which shook both the FRSC community and the public, came to light following investigations that led to the arrest of a 40-year-old suspect, Fajemirokun, along with two herbalists, Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James, who were paraded at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo in connection with the incident.

At the burial ceremony, colleagues of Oluwamayokun, many still in uniform, paid their respects as her remains and those of her daughter were lowered into the grave. Tears flowed freely, and heartfelt prayers were offered for the repose of their souls, reflecting the deep sense of loss felt by the community.

Family members described the deceased as loving, dedicated, and committed, not only to her duties as an FRSC officer but also to her role as a mother. Attendees emphasized that the tragic circumstances surrounding the deaths had left an indelible mark on the community, highlighting the need for justice and stronger measures to protect citizens.

The burial was attended by church leaders, FRSC officials, and well-wishers who expressed solidarity with the grieving family. The event also served as a somber reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of safety and vigilance in society.

As the final prayers were said and the graves were covered, mourners called for swift legal action against those responsible, hoping that justice would be served and that the memory of Lasisi Oluwamayokun and her daughter would remain a beacon for family and community unity.
