TCN RESTORES POWER SUPPLY TO KADUNA AFTER REPAIRS
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has confirmed the restoration of electricity supply to Kaduna State following the successful repair of the 330 kV Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 1.
The announcement was made on Monday by TCN’s spokesperson, who noted that power was reinstated over the weekend after the completion of the repair works, leading to noticeable improvement in electricity supply across the state.
Despite the progress, TCN disclosed that repair efforts are still ongoing on the 330 kV Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 2.
According to the statement, “The Transmission Company of Nigeria has successfully restored the 330 kV Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 1, which is now fully operational. With the restoration of Line 1, bulk power supply to Kaduna Electric has significantly improved, easing the supply constraints previously experienced in Kaduna.”
However, the country continues to experience a reduction in power generation nationwide due to ongoing maintenance activities at Seplat, carried out in collaboration with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC), as well as at key gas production facilities.
