The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested two men over the alleged theft of railway materials in Kanwa Village, Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State.
The state commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, said officers recovered 50 railway sleeper clips, while another 205 remained missing.
He identified the suspects as 25-year-old Shamsu Isyaku, a resident of Kanwa Village, and 40-year-old Shehu Yakubu of Kanwa Yamma.
According to Agalama, Isyaku is suspected of carrying out the theft, while Yakubu allegedly received and purchased the stolen materials.
A third suspect, identified as Saleh Kanwa, remains at large. The commandant said investigations were continuing to recover the missing clips and establish whether other people were involved.
Agalama warned that anyone involved in stealing or trading stolen railway materials would face legal action.
He also appealed to residents to share useful information with security agencies to help locate the fleeing suspect and protect public infrastructure.
