Top intervention agency official rallies grassroots mobilization for President's 2027 bid

An executive director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Ifedayo Abegunde, has called on youths across the Niger Delta region to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid for 2027.

The NDDC director made the call while emphasizing the critical need for continued synergy between the federal government, regional stakeholders, and the younger generation to drive sustainable growth.

According to him, securing a second term for the current administration will unlock greater developmental milestones, fast-track infrastructure projects, and solidify economic transformations across the oil-rich region.

Abegunde stressed that regional development cannot be achieved by working in isolation, urging traditional institutions, community leaders, and particularly young people to actively participate in grassroots mobilization.

The appeal aligns with a growing wave of endorsements and solidarity campaigns from various youth groups, stakeholders, and ex-agitators across the South-South zone throwing their weight behind the administration's policy trajectory.

The NDDC chief further highlighted ongoing efforts by the commission to prioritize human capital development, youth empowerment, and strategic infrastructure to better the lives of everyday citizens in the region.

Political analysts note that the intensified mobilization efforts by government appointees in the region signal early political alignments ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
