SUPER FALCONS NAME 28-PLAYER SQUAD FOR COMOROS OLYMPIC QUALIFIERS
Super Falcons interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen has named a 28-player squad for Nigeria’s 2028 Olympic qualifying matches against Comoros.
The squad was announced on Tuesday through the team’s official X account and includes captain Rasheedat Ajibade, forward Asisat Oshoala and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.
Young forward Janet Akekoromowei, who recently moved to Benfica, also received an invitation, while defender Ashleigh Plumptre returns to the team after missing the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.
The goalkeepers are Chiamaka Nnadozie, Comfort Erhabor and Christiana Uzoma.
The defenders are Michelle Alozie, Shukurat Oladipo, Farida Abdulwahab, Glory Ogbonna, Oluwatosin Demehin, Glory Edet, Ashleigh Plumptre and Timininu Adeshina.
The midfielders are Christy Ucheibe, Joy Igokwe, Favour Nwocha, Fatimoh Solaty, Suliat Abideen, Toni Payne and Jennifer Echegini.
The forwards are Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala, Flourish Sabastine, Shakirat Moshood, Gift Monday, Joy Omewa, Blessing Nkor, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, Janet Akekoromowei and Uchenna Kanu.
The players are expected to report at AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, October 3.
Both legs will be played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo because Comoros does not have a CAF-approved venue for international matches.
The first leg is scheduled for Friday, October 9, with the return leg set for Tuesday, October 13, as the Falcons begin their campaign for a place at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
