SUPER FALCONS AIM FOR 11TH WAFCON TITLE, SAY NNADOZIE: “NO PRESSURE”
Justine Madugu’s Super Falcons will be aiming to secure a record-extending 11th title when the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in Morocco next month.
The Nigerian side has been drawn in Group C alongside debutants Malawi, as well as Zambia and Egypt.
The West Africans will open their campaign against Malawi on March 18 in Casablanca.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie acknowledged the challenge of winning a major competition like WAFCON but stressed that the team is ready for the task.
“We are not under any pressure at all. We’ve worked so hard over the years to be where we are today. Many teams are working tirelessly to reach this stage, and respect to all of them. But for us, there is no pressure,” Nnadozie told the Super Falcons media.
The WAFCON 2026 finals will run from March 17 to April 3, with the four semi-finalists earning qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
