Former Nigerian international, Victor Ikpeba, has expressed confidence that the Super Eagles will revive their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification hopes with wins against Rwanda and South Africa.

The Nigerian team currently sits fourth in their group, having managed just one victory in six matches and securing seven points. South Africa leads the group with 13 points from the same number of games.

The Super Eagles are set to host Rwanda’s Amavubi on Saturday, September 6, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo for their matchday seven fixture. Four days later, they will face South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in Bloemfontein.

Ikpeba, a former AS Monaco forward, believes the Nigerian side has what it takes to get the job done in both matches.

“There’s pride, determination, and honour in representing your country. I believe the boys are now ready and determined to deliver against Rwanda and South Africa,” he said in an interview with SuperSport.

The team’s training camp ahead of the two crucial fixtures is scheduled to open next Monday.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
