Nigeria’s Super Eagles have dropped one place in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Thursday, now sitting in 44th position globally.
The three-time African champions also slipped to fifth place on the continent, behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria.
During the period under review, the Super Eagles played a 1-1 draw against Russia at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow—a result that wasn’t enough to keep their previous standing.
Meanwhile, Argentina continue to hold on to the top spot in the global rankings.
Despite this slight dip, Nigerian fans will hope the Super Eagles can bounce back stronger in their upcoming fixtures and climb back up both the African and world standings.
