The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, has called on Nigerians to pray for peaceful and credible elections ahead of future electoral activities in the country.

The respected traditional and religious leader urged citizens to seek divine guidance for the nation, stressing the importance of unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence during the political season.

According to the Sultan, elections should not become a source of violence or division, adding that national stability must remain a collective priority.

He also encouraged political actors and supporters to conduct themselves responsibly and avoid inflammatory statements capable of causing tension.

The Sultan emphasized the need for fairness, justice, and patriotism among leaders and citizens as the country prepares for upcoming political processes.

Religious and community leaders across Nigeria have repeatedly advocated peaceful participation in elections to prevent unrest and strengthen democracy.

The appeal comes amid increasing political activities and alignments ahead of future electoral contests across the country.
