‘STOP USING MY CHILDREN AS BAIT’ – IYABO OJO WARNS BABA IJESHA AFTER INTERVIEW
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has issued a cease-and-desist warning to her colleague, Baba Ijesha, following statements he made during a recent interview.
In the interview, Baba Ijesha addressed the sexual assault allegations made against him by comedienne Princess. He also expressed disappointment in Iyabo Ojo, claiming she turned against him despite his past relationship with her family.
Reacting via her Instagram story, Iyabo Ojo firmly warned him to stop involving her children in his narrative. She clarified that her children were never left unattended, noting that they were always under the care of nannies or her late mother.
The actress stated that while she has no issue with him sharing his side of the story, he must refrain from making what she described as false and misleading claims about her family.
Iyabo further stressed that the case involved the assault of a minor, emphasizing that such an act is a serious crime. She urged Baba Ijesha to show remorse, pointing out that the court had already found him guilty based on evidence.
She also cautioned that any further mention of her children could result in legal action, stating that she would not hesitate to instruct her lawyers to take appropriate steps if necessary.
Baba Ijesha was recently released after spending over three years in custody in connection with the case. His release followed a ruling by the Appeal Court, according to reports shared by actor Yomi Fabiyi, who had publicly supported him during the trial.
Following his release, Baba Ijesha expressed gratitude to a supporter believed to be Yomi Fabiyi, noting that he had just regained his freedom and was looking forward to settling back into normal life.
The case dates back to 2021, when Princess accused Baba Ijesha of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old ward. The incident sparked widespread reactions within the entertainment industry, with Iyabo Ojo supporting Princess, while Yomi Fabiyi stood by Baba Ijesha.
In 2022, Baba Ijesha was sentenced to five years imprisonment after being found guilty of the offence.
