STOP POLITICISING INSECURITY, OLUWO TELLS POLITICIANS

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has urged politicians to stop using insecurity as a tool for political gain, warning that such actions could worsen the country's security challenges.

Speaking on the state of the nation, the traditional ruler expressed concern over attempts by some political actors to exploit security issues for partisan purposes rather than focusing on practical solutions.

According to the monarch, insecurity affects all Nigerians regardless of political affiliation and should therefore be addressed with sincerity, unity, and collective responsibility.

He stressed that leaders and stakeholders must work together to support security agencies, strengthen intelligence gathering, and promote policies that enhance public safety.

The Oluwo also called on politicians to avoid statements or actions capable of creating fear, division, or mistrust among citizens, noting that national security should remain above political interests.

He emphasized the need for constructive engagement and collaboration between government, communities, and security institutions to tackle emerging threats across the country.

The traditional ruler further appealed to Nigerians to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information to security agencies to aid efforts aimed at protecting lives and property.

His remarks come amid ongoing national discussions on insecurity and the role of political leaders in addressing the challenge effectively.
