Nigerian commentator Mahdi Shehu has called on U.S. President Donald Trump to focus on China’s rising assertiveness instead of pressuring weaker countries.

Shehu made the statement on X on Sunday, describing China’s stern warning to the U.S. as an act of boldness and audacity.

“While some world leaders yield to or fear America, China sees it as a nation pushing its luck too far,” he wrote.

He highlighted that China had openly warned the U.S. that it could retaliate decisively if the first strike came from America.

“Trump should redirect his attention to addressing China’s challenge instead of intimidating weaker nations to access critical Rare Earth Minerals,” Shehu added.

The post included a video showing China asserting that, although it would not strike first, it is fully prepared to respond if provoked. In the footage, China also highlighted its possession of the 61 weapon system, reportedly containing 60 nuclear bombs and a hydrogen bomb, claiming to be the only nation with a hydrogen bomb.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
