STANLEY ONTOP ACCUSES NAPTIP OF ABDUCTING CHILDREN, FORCING RELIGIOUS CONVERSION
Nollywood actor and activist, Stanley Ontop, has accused the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) of allegedly trafficking children from Delta State to Kano.
The actor made the claims in a series of posts on his Instagram page on Tuesday.
According to him, officials of the agency stormed Happy Home Orphanage in Asaba on Sunday, June 15, 2025, around 2 p.m., using a white Hummer bus to take away children aged between 13 and 17 without proper documentation.
He alleged:
“Some NAPTIP officials from Kano invaded an orphanage in Asaba and went away with eight children. Neither the government, the Ministry of Women Affairs, the special advisers, nor the first lady has spoken on this matter. It is only we activists in Delta State raising concerns.
“They took eight children to the North, changed their names to Muslim names, forced them to attend mosques and study the Qur’an. When they resist, they are flogged like illegal refugees. And nothing has been done about it?”
In a viral video circulating online, the Chairman of Happy Home Orphanage, Christopher Nwokoye, who was absent when the incident happened, explained that he found a small slip of paper left behind by those who claimed to be NAPTIP officials.
“When I checked the note, it indicated NAPTIP officials from Oka. I rushed to the D Division police station, but the DCO confirmed he didn’t deploy any officers to the orphanage.
“The next morning, I went to the NAPTIP office at the Federal Secretariat in Oka, and when I showed the note to their head of duties, he said it was not from them but from Kano,” he narrated.
