ST. AUGUSTINE’S 1985 SET CELEBRATES 40 YEARS WITH ₦2M LEGACY GIFT
The 1985 graduating set of St. Augustine’s Comprehensive High School, Ayede-Oye Ekiti, is set to celebrate 40 years since they left the school — and they’re doing it in style and with a generous heart.
The school itself, which turns 50 in September, will host the old students starting next Friday, with a series of activities lined up to reflect, reconnect, and celebrate their journey.
In a statement from the set’s President, Dr. Steve Akinyele, and shared by the group’s PRO, Segun Ayoola, the reunion will feature a mix of fun and impactful events:
Unveiling of a ₦2 million anniversary project — tiling of the Alumni Auditorium
Gifts and awards during the school’s valedictory service
A friendly novelty football match
An inspiring lecture by Prof. Sesan Fabamise of Afe Babalola University, titled: “Entrepreneurship: The Bedrock of Human Capital”
Moments of reflection and celebration of classmates, past and present
Notable personalities are expected to grace the occasion, including Professor Vincent Bamigboye, Worldwide President of the Old Students’ Association, and Oba Michael Oluwole Ademolaju Adugbole III, the Oloye of Oye Kingdom.
As part of their commitment to giving back, the 1985 Set is investing in a legacy project to improve school facilities and support the current generation of students.
The celebration promises to be a heartwarming reunion filled with gratitude, nostalgia, and community impact — a testament to the lasting bonds and values shaped within the school’s walls.
