The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has stated that governors from the South-South and South-East regions have set aside their political affiliations to back President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

According to Yilwatda, the governors’ support is rooted in their confidence in the president’s character and leadership style.

Represented by the APC Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Emma Eneukwu, Yilwatda made this known during the party’s 12th Expanded Stakeholders’ Meeting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

He explained that both governors and lawmakers are aligning with Tinubu due to his governance approach, adding that the APC remains open to new members willing to join its ranks.

“I am very pleased with the South-South geopolitical zone. Governors who were previously in other political parties have come to appreciate the quality and character of Mr. President. Because of this, they have abandoned their former parties and joined our great party, working together to move Nigeria forward. That is highly commendable,” Yilwatda said.

“From the South-East as well, we draw inspiration from the South-South. These governors have demonstrated realism and understanding by moving past party lines to support the collective vision of making Nigeria a greater nation,” he added.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
