SON ARRESTED FOR PLOTTING FATHER’S ABDUCTION IN ADAMAWA
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers in connection with the abduction of Alhaji Ahmadu in Malabu, Fufore Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed the arrests on Tuesday, stating that the suspects were apprehended during a coordinated intelligence-led raid conducted with local security stakeholders.
The operation followed the kidnapping of Alhaji Ahmadu on January 30, 2026, in Malabu. According to the police statement, the raid targeted a suspected kidnapper’s hideout in Jera village, Malabu District, and was carried out under the directives of Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC (+).
The arrested suspects have been identified as Lawali Haruna, 45; Yahaya Ibrahim, 25; and Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu, 28, all residents of Jera. In a shocking revelation, Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu was confirmed to be the biological son of the kidnapped victim. All three suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime.
Police confirmed that efforts are ongoing to rescue Alhaji Ahmadu unharmed and to apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate.
The Commissioner of Police praised the cooperation between the police and local security outfits and reassured residents of the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He also urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information.
