"SOLUDO STANDS BY TINUBU, SAYS FRIENDSHIP RUNS 22 YEARS DEEP"
Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has once again thrown his weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting a personal bond that has lasted over two decades.
Speaking during a visit to Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Soludo described Tinubu as a “long-time friend” of 22 years, noting that their relationship goes beyond politics. He praised the President’s leadership style and expressed confidence in his ability to steer Nigeria through its current economic and social challenges.
The Anambra governor’s remarks, however, have stirred political conversations. Some critics believe the show of loyalty could be part of a broader political strategy, possibly positioning Soludo for relevance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Political analysts point out that in Nigeria’s political landscape, visible alliances — especially between influential figures from different regions — often carry deeper strategic undertones. Still, Soludo insists his support is rooted in personal respect and shared history, not political calculations.
“As friends, we have been through many political seasons together,” Soludo said. “My visit is to reaffirm that bond and also to work together in addressing the challenges our nation faces.”
Whether purely personal or quietly strategic, the governor’s endorsement adds another layer to the unfolding political drama as the countdown to 2027 begins.
