SOLDIERS RESCUE SIX KIDNAP VICTIMS IN KATSINA
Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully rescued six kidnap victims in a joint operation conducted in parts of Katsina State, dealing a significant blow to banditry and criminal activities in the region.
The operation, carried out in collaboration with other security agencies, led to the freeing of the victims who were held in a forested area. No casualties were reported among the rescued individuals, who have been reunited with their families.
The Defence Headquarters confirmed the rescue, stating that the troops also neutralised several bandits during the encounter and recovered arms and ammunition. “Our forces remain committed to restoring peace and security in Katsina and other affected areas,” a military spokesperson said.
Residents and state officials have commended the military for their swift response and professionalism. The Katsina State Government has pledged continued support for security operations to curb kidnapping and other crimes.
The incident highlights ongoing efforts by the military to dismantle criminal networks operating in the North-West region.
