Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have rescued a 28-year-old kidnap victim, Mrs. Member Ityavber, during an operation in Benue State.

The rescue took place at Tse-Ubena village in Yooyo Council Ward of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, following reports of kidnapping activities in the area. According to the Acting Media Information Officer of the operation, Ahmad Zubairu, troops carried out the mission in collaboration with the Benue Civil Protection Guard.

“Troops responded to reports of kidnapping activities… and successfully rescued one kidnapped victim,” the statement noted.

In a related development, troops also arrested two suspected armed herders in Mbapa and Mbabuande in Gwer West Local Government Area after acting on credible intelligence. The suspects were apprehended during clearance operations around River Akpako and are currently in custody for further investigation.

The Force Commander of the Joint Task Force, Moses Gara, commended the troops for their swift response and professionalism, reaffirming the commitment of security forces to maintaining safety, especially as communities prepare for the farming season.
