Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have foiled multiple terrorist attacks, arrested suspects, and intercepted large consignments of logistics linked to insurgents during operations across the North-East.

According to the Joint Task Force spokesman, Sani Uba, the operations, carried out between March 28 and 30, targeted terrorist enclaves and supply routes in Borno State and surrounding areas.

In Damboa, troops thwarted a planned attack by Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters after detecting their movement through surveillance, engaging them and forcing a retreat. Similar attempts to attack farmers and communities in Gwoza and Askira Uba Local Government Areas were also repelled.

The military said insurgents were pushed back towards the Mandara Mountains, while troops also uncovered and safely detonated an improvised explosive device along the Goniri–Ngamdu axis.

In a major breakthrough, security forces intercepted vehicles carrying large quantities of supplies suspected to be meant for terrorists. The items, equivalent to two truckloads, included medical drugs, motorcycle parts, mosquito nets, mats, and other materials, allegedly being transported towards a border community near Chad.

Troops, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force, also arrested several suspects linked to terrorist logistics networks. Among them was a 26-year-old alleged supplier, Mohammed Adamu, as well as 13 other suspects in Gubio.

In a separate operation, a suspected insurgent identified as Abubakar Ali, also known as “Saina,” was arrested at a checkpoint while reportedly on a reconnaissance mission. A suspected kidnapper was also apprehended in Damboa.
