Troops of the Nigerian Army have dismantled an illegal arms manufacturing facility in Kebbi State, recovering five AK-47 rifles and other dangerous weapons during a successful raid.

The operation, carried out in a remote area of the state, targeted a criminal syndicate suspected of producing and supplying arms to bandits and other criminal elements operating in the North-West region. Military sources confirmed the arrest of several suspects found at the site.

The Defence Headquarters praised the troops for their professionalism and intelligence-driven approach, noting that the bust would significantly disrupt the supply chain of illegal weapons in the area. “Our forces remain committed to ridding the country of criminal networks and restoring peace,” a military spokesperson said.

Residents in the affected communities have expressed relief, hoping that the operation will lead to improved security. The suspects are undergoing interrogation, and further raids are expected in the coming days.

The incident highlights ongoing military efforts to combat arms proliferation and banditry in northern Nigeria.
