The African Democratic Congress governorship candidate in Sokoto State, Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, has thanked youths, women, elders and other supporters for organising solidarity rallies in Sokoto North and Kware Local Government Areas.

Dan’iya said the rallies demonstrated growing support for his 2027 governorship bid and the ADC.

According to a statement by his media aide, Aminu Abdullahi, about 30,000 youths participated in the Sokoto North rally, while another 10,000 joined the mobilisation in Kware. The figures were provided by Dan’iya’s campaign team.

The former deputy governor said he was encouraged by the participation of young people in the political process and commended the organisers for mobilising supporters.

He said issues including insecurity, unemployment, economic hardship and limited opportunities were among the concerns driving increased youth participation in politics.

Dan’iya said his campaign would focus on areas including security, employment, education, entrepreneurship, healthcare, water supply and economic development.

He also urged his supporters to participate peacefully and responsibly as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue.

The ADC candidate called on supporters across Sokoto State’s 23 local government areas to remain respectful and focused on issues during the political process.

He added that the significance of the rallies should be assessed not only by the number of participants but also by the ideas and discipline demonstrated by supporters.
