A suspected bag snatcher has been arrested in Adamawa State after a social media post exposed him.

The case came to light when a woman, Jennifer Emmanuel, took to her Facebook account to alert the public about a Keke NAPEP operator who allegedly snatched her purse containing over ₦100,000.

Her post read:
“If you see any keke man with this plate number, he is a criminal. He snatched my purse with over 100k inside and ran away. Luckily I snapped his plate number. Please, help me.”

Although the tricycle was registered in Mubi, northern Adamawa, it was being operated in Girei, near Yola.

Following her post, operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID) swung into action and tracked down the suspect.

In a statement, the Adamawa State Police Command, through its spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrest and assured that investigations are ongoing.

He added that the suspect would be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
