SMARTCOMPLY GETS ACCREDITATION TO CERTIFY CYBERSECURITY PROFESSIONALS

Smartcomply Academy has secured accreditation from the Nigeria National Accreditation System to operate as a personnel certification body for professionals in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, privacy and related fields.

The accreditation, which took effect on September 7, 2026, was granted under the ISO/IEC 17024:2026 standard and is valid until September 6, 2030.

Smartcomply said the accreditation followed an assessment of its certification system, including its technical competence, impartiality and processes for evaluating professionals against defined requirements.

The academy said the accreditation allows it to certify professionals independently of its training programmes.

It clarified that completing a Smartcomply training course does not automatically mean that a participant has received professional certification.

The organisation said the development would support efforts to strengthen professional standards and improve the quality of certified personnel in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.

As of September 22, Smartcomply said it was the only organisation on the NiNAS public register whose current accreditation certificate referenced the 2026 edition of ISO/IEC 17024.

The academy said the accreditation would help create a recognised pathway for professionals seeking certification in emerging technology and digital security fields.
